Revised - TOYS TOURNAMENT (Members request)

SCRAPTOFT G.C. WEDNESDAY 28th FEBRUARY 2024

For many years it has been the tradition of the Society to hold a tournament to celebrate the festive season, whilst at the same time making a significant contribution to the local charity supporting underprivileged children at Christmas. "Toys on the Table" Regrettably this years event in December 2023 had to be cancelled due to Snow in Leicestershire and the Course being Closed.

SLRGC had already purchased all the Prizes plus many members had also collected TOYS for the event but have still not been able to delivery this to the Charity, the Council with Scraptoft GC has agreed to play a revised Toy Tournament on Wednesday 28th February 2024. The event will be run like a Winter Wander,  but to be," T he TOYS  Tournament" so it can still take the form of a 4-ball Am-Am stableford, with the best two scores to count on each hole and Nearest the Pins.

Entry to the competition will include Coffee on arrival then with a 1 x Course Hot Meal after golf (Scraptoft GC to advise of Food nearer the date), again all will depend on our Numbers attending. The cost has been reduced to a fully inclusive cost of £30 per person.

Please do not forget the contribution of a new toy (suggested minimum value of £8) for the Charity Toys on the Table, however if you had already donated a TOY and had this collected by the Charity, do not feel that you need to repurchase, or bring another Toy.

We will all be playing from the 1st Tee from 10:02 Hrs and tees will be reserved until 13:00hrs, but then adjusted depending on our numbers attending. The start sheet will be on the web site a few days before the event, but please ensure you advise us of your preferred start time, on your submission.

This event has always been extremely popular and members have asked that this is re-run asap, so its over to members now to submit an entry, but early bookings are essential, as we always have  a full starting sheet.

Members may enter as teams of four but may enter individually or in  t wos or threes and be made up into teams.  We also include Gentlemen Vice Captains, Past Captains (Non members) to play in Club groups, both are  welcome to play in this Charity event.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ONCE WE HAVE CONFIRMED ATTENDING WE HAVE TO PAY FOR THE GOLF & CATERING SO IF YOU SUBMITTED TO PLAY, THEN FIND OUT YOU ARE UNABLE TO PLAY PLEASE INFORM "the Hon Sec" NO LATER THAN MONDAY 26th  FEBRUARY 2024.
